Stained Glass Theatre

Serving Christ Through the Arts

Where Faith and the Arts Come Alive

Located in Ozark, MO, the Stained Glass Theatre (SGT) has been “Serving Christ Through the Arts” for over 35 years. Founded in 1982 by playwright and director Ron Boutwell, the theatre was established with a mission to communicate God’s love through live performances. Since then, the theatre has grown and evolved, moving from a small basement location to a renovated flea market building, where it continues to entertain and inspire audiences with faith-based productions.

Family-Friendly Atmosphere:

While attending a performance, families can capture memories with photos in the theatre’s beautiful courtyard area, featuring seasonal decorations like the Harvest Tree in the fall and a massive Christmas tree in the winter. Be sure to tag SGT in your social media posts using #SGTozark!

History:

The history of Stained Glass Theatre is one of passion and perseverance. In 1982, Ron Boutwell gathered a group of college students to launch a full-time Christian theatre, with the goal of using their talents to serve God. After starting in a basement, the theatre grew rapidly, moving to various locations as the audience expanded. Now, with a permanent home in a renovated flea market, the theatre continues to thrive, thanks to its dedicated volunteers and loyal audience.

The theatre’s legacy is built on the support of countless volunteers who have worked tirelessly to ensure its success. The heart of SGT’s mission can be summed up with the simple questions:
“Why do you do the things you do?
Who do you do them for?”
