Oldfield Opry

A Home for Classic Country Music & Community

Feel the Heart of Country Music

Located at the junction of Highway 125 and Highway T in Oldfield, MO, the Oldfield Opry is a cherished local institution, offering live country music and a warm, family-friendly atmosphere every Saturday night. With roots dating back to 1977, this community-driven venue has been a gathering place for country music lovers for decades.

What to Expect:

At the Oldfield Opry, you can enjoy live performances by the Opry Band every Saturday from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. with a focus on classic country music. On the second Saturday of each month (March through November), preshows featuring area bands start at 5:30 p.m. You’re invited to come early to grab a bite from the concession stand, meet fellow Opry fans, and enjoy some good old-fashioned country hospitality. The doors open at 6:00 p.m., and on preshow nights, at 5:00 p.m.

Admission is donation-based, allowing everyone to enjoy the music while supporting this beloved venue. The musicians truly “sing for their supper,” and many volunteers help with concessions, ushering, and clean-up, making the Opry a true labor of love.

A Rich History:

The Oldfield Opry began on a cold January night in 1977, with just a handful of local musicians and an audience that barely outnumbered the band. Held in a small store building, the Opry quickly grew in popularity. By 1990, the community had raised enough funds to build a new facility, which has been the Opry’s home ever since. Built with donated labor and seating for 200 people, the new building marked the beginning of a new era for the Opry, complete with modern amenities like central heating, air conditioning, and indoor restrooms.

Over the years, the Oldfield Opry has entertained visitors from all 50 states and several foreign countries, remaining a welcoming spot for locals and travelers alike. The Opry’s theme song says it best:

Come on out to Oldfield on a Saturday night,
You won’t see no drinkin’ and you won’t see no fights,
Just good friends and neighbors, they’ll sure treat you right,
At the Oldfield Opry on a Saturday night.
